Manufacturing leaders and operators interviewed across the country
Shows covering manufacturing culture, leadership, and the shop floor
Question that starts everything: what's the story you haven't told yet?
You've spent years building something real: a skilled team, a culture people stay for, work you're genuinely proud of. But outside your walls? Nobody knows.
Not because your story isn't worth telling. Because nobody's ever gone in to find it.
From a decade on the shop floor
The Storyboard Session is a 60-minute strategy call where we map your company's identity, your people, and the content that could bring it all to life. You leave with a complete production plan — yours to keep, regardless of what comes next.
On-site or remote, we document the people, the floor, and the culture that built your company. Not a marketing shoot. A genuine record of what makes your shop worth knowing. Your team will feel it in how we work.
Video, clips, case studies, and blog posts that your team will use, and your audience will watch. Formatted for LinkedIn, your website, your trade show booth, and the hiring page you've been meaning to build.
On-site documentary and culture films
We've gone into manufacturing companies and come out with films their teams watch on repeat, used in hiring, used in sales, and used to make customers feel something. Not promotional content. Real stories from real floors.
250+ conversations, one through-line
Weekly conversations with the people building manufacturing from the inside, operators, founders, and culture builders. If you want to know how we work, start there.
Community building
We've brought rooms full of manufacturing people together from San Francisco to Charlotte and everywhere in between, having the kind of conversations that don't happen anywhere else; a live proof of concept for what great storytelling does to a room.

Jim Mayer is a podcast host, producer, event moderator, and above all: a manufacturing storyteller. His strength isn't the camera or the microphone. It's walking into a room, asking the right question, and making the person across from him feel like the most important person in the conversation.
He's done it in front of live audiences. He's done it on shop floors. He's done it on hundreds of podcast episodes with people who never thought of themselves as someone with a story worth telling.
Jim has built The MFG Connector around one belief: manufacturing companies have better stories than almost anyone.

Yes, and smaller is sometimes better. A 30-person shop with a tight culture and a 20-year legacy has more compelling story material than most enterprise brands. The Storyboard Session is specifically built for companies where the owner or a solo marketing person is carrying the whole load. You don't need a content department. You need someone who can walk in and find what's already there.
The production plan is yours. No strings. We built it that way on purpose; if we can't give you something valuable in 60 minutes, we haven't earned the rest of the engagement. Most clients find the plan itself shifts how they think about their story, regardless of what comes next.
Not necessarily. Some of our best work starts remotely: a recorded interview, edited long-form video, clips, and a case study or blog, all from a single session. On-site production is available and often the right call for deeper storytelling, but the Storyboard Session will tell us which approach fits your situation and your budget.
It depends entirely on what the production plan calls for. We have options starting at $2,500 and on-site production packages for deeper engagements. The Storyboard Session scopes what makes sense for your situation, so you're never guessing at a budget before we know what we're building.
